Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The acknowledgement of a person's skills and knowledge gained from previous training, work or life experience.

Registered Training Organisation (RTO)

An organisation registered by a state or territory to deliver training and/or conduct assessments and issue nationally recognised vocational qualifications.

Reporting

Reporting is providing feedback about student progress and achievement.

Reports

In 2004 the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training required all schools to report to parents about student academic and non-academic learning in plain English. Twice yearly reports from your child's teacher give information about how your child is achieving against statewide standards as well as how they are progessing in comparison with classmates at the same school. This information is set out in a document in a five point achievement scale (A-E). For further information see your local school.
